Vietnam: WHO Helmet Manual Launched

The recently published WHO manual, Helmets: a road safety manual for decision-makers and practictioners, has been translated into Vietnamese. On November 23, 2006, in a ceremony in Vietnam, attended by Dr Etienne Krug, Director of the WHO Department of Injuries and Violence Prevention, the translated manual was introduced along with two other important injury prevention and control documents - Developing policies to prevent injuries and violence: guidelines for policy-makers and planners and Child and adolescent injury prevention: a WHO plan of action. The launch of the documents also provided an occasion to review the injury situation in Vietnam and internationally.
